The elevation
A charcoal tower with one blue curve.
The stair tower carries the building. It is finished in a speckled charcoal panel field with white reveals set out floor by floor, and a single pale blue form sweeps up the full height of the corner and wraps the return. The guest room wings pick up the same charcoal, banded in white with pale grey spandrel panels between the window runs.
The curve is the whole job. It is a single continuous line from grade to parapet, so it had to be set out and cut in one pass — any correction part way up would show from the service road. The tower was worked from scaffold and boom lifts together, including taking the old rooftop sign down and reinstating around it, with the entrance and guest wings kept open throughout.
